Did I Mention…

Last Friday this blog was included on The Loop 21’s 25 Websites We Love Part I?  The Loop is a comprehensive website that offers news and opinion on politics, money, culture and entertainment. The site is easy to navigate with interesting graphics and video, it’s smart, savvy and actively engages you as a reader.  I encourage you to pay them a visit and have something other than Family Guy  ( My guilty pleasure, I heart Seth McFarlane)  to talk about at the water cooler or the coffee machine… or whatever you people who work gather around nowadays.

A couple of  weeks ago I wrote a letter to my landlords to see if he and his wife would reduce my rent. That was a difficult letter to write and I struggled with feelings of failure and victimhood. Ultimately though, it proved to me the power of my voice. I asked and I received a reduction of my rent for six months, and am grateful for their compassion.

OH! Grad school… drumroll please…  I turned in my packet of work! Seven pages of brand new fiction! It’s been a struggle to write creatively and I did it! I’m very proud of myself for that.

These mountains that I’m climbing over, the beasts I slay every day are all part of the plan, stepping stones to the top. Nothing is going to keep me from my purpose. Ya with me? I know you are, I feel it everyday.

Something spectacular is just around the bend…

  1. I heart Seth McFarlane, too! Adam Carolla did a really interesting interview with him on his podcast: http://carollaradio.com/2009/03/16/acp-20090317-adam-and-seth-macfarlane. Although, I have to admit, when listening to it I kept picturing Adam talking to Brian, martini glass in hand. Er, paw. 🙂

Good job on the rent reduction and the writing! Yay for you!

  2. RecessionDaily

I can’t wait to listen to that podcast!

  3. It’s an interesting interview. Seth talks about his experience on 9/11, which is a fascinating story (that I’d never heard before), and he laughs a lot. That may be due to the Jack Daniels they were apparently drinking during the interview (which took place in Adam’s house). 🙂
